| I have since put my stock clutch fan back in with no shroud and I am already seeing lower temps. I haven't see anyone state they are running 180ish temps with your electric fan. Do these people that do not have issues all have some sort of way to measure the real temps they are running? Or are they basing it off the stock gauge? My FMIC is taken off now for a few reasons, one being the larger pipes I had wouldn't allow the stock fan shroud to bolt back into place (fan shroud wasn't a concern when I had the custom kit made for me). I wanted to be able to drive and track my Z and I couldn't do that with the electric fan so I had to do what I could to get it back to an working state. I also think the larger ic piping wasn't helping me here at alt (I'm testing that as well with this swap). I'll be testing the electric fan one more time with my sidemounts when they are in just to be sure. But I'm pretty certain it still won't work. I tested around the FMIC and it appeared to not be the problem. My roommate had the same issues with his electric fan set up with his side mounts. While it wasn't your fan set it, it was basically the same. A higher flowing fan would be something to try. What kind of CFM increase are we talking about? As far as I've seen, it's when driving that I'm having the most issues. I think the electric fan is blocking airflow at speed and causing the temps to rise. It does just fine at idle as it sits at about 170ish with my mods and Nismo therm. Explain the new shroud and how it's different. I have a switch for my AC fan in the car to turn it on if I need to (been wanting to do this for track days for awhile now). I was going to reprogram my ECU as I finally found the code where to do it, but then started thinking about it. I feel you shouldn't have to rely on using it to keep the car cool. If I have to have the AC fan on to keep the car around 180ish, I can't see being able to run the AC itself with out the temps going out of control. And I think you know where I stand about your ECU here at alt :) I really would love to find a way to run an elecric fan for many reasons. Mainly I just like having the room to work on items and it helps the hot air to flow out easier as well. I have one of the highly talked about Ford Taurus fans/shrouds that I've been wanting to try. Got it for $10 at the junk yard so I figured why not. It seems to get great reviews from the other car owners that have used it (non-Z cars), but it is rated at less CFM than what I currently have from you so I'm not sure how it will do.
